Chris Obenshain Receives Endorsement of Attorney General Jason Miyares

I'm honored to have the endorsement of Attorney General Jason Miyares.
As a local prosecutor, keeping our community safe has been the calling of my career and the mission of my professional life. I'm proud of my record of fighting for the victims of crime and keeping some of the worst criminals in society, from drug dealers to sexually violent predators, off the streets.

Today, our we are facing a rising tide of violent crime that is spilling out into our suburban and rural communities and threatening our freedoms. I am proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Attorney General Miyares in enforcing our laws, fighting back against liberal prosecutors who value criminals over victims, and preserving and defending our valuable constitutional liberties.

As your Delegate, I'll work with Virginia's conservative leadership to keep our Commonwealth moving in the right direction and restore sanity to our schools, our communities, and our society.

Sherri Blevins, Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors
Paul Mahoney, Chair of the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors

Harry Collins, Former Montgomery County GOP Chair

“I’m happy to endorse Chris Obenshain for Delegate. Republicans across Southwest Virginia know Chris as a passionate grassroots conservative who will fight for Roanoke and the New River Valley. Chris is the type of leader we need in Richmond standing up for our community,” said Paul Mahoney, Chairman of the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors.

“I am proud to endorse my friend Chris Obenshain for Delegate. Now more than ever, Montgomery County needs a representative with the backbone to stand firm in their conservative beliefs,” said Sherri Blevins, Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors. “I know Chris to be a man of faith, an advocate for parental rights, and a fighter for a limited, Constitutional government. He is the proven conservative we need in Richmond.”

"I am proud to be endorsed by these distinguished friends and conservative leaders. I am running for Delegate because misguided Democrat policies have made a mess of our economy, endangered public safety, and threaten to ruin our kids' education,” said Chris Obenshain. “We need a strong conservative and a proven leader to fight for our region and our values. As a prosecutor in Montgomery County, I have dedicated my career to keeping our community safe by convicting drug dealers and violent criminals. As a parent, I've dedicated my life to the health, education and well-being of my children. When you send me to Richmond, I'll give the same devotion to serving every family in the 41st House District. My top priorities will be to give tax relief to working families, be a tireless advocate for public safety, and to always defend our shared conservative values. "

Obenshain Speaks Out for Parental Rights

I appreciated the opportunity last night to address the Montgomery County School Board about the issue of parent rights in education.

As we've learned over the past several years, in order to get answers about what happens in our schools, parents have to ask the right questions. I am pleased to see parents getting more engaged and encourage parents to ask more questions about the safety, curriculum, and use of taxpayer resources in our schools.

Celebrating America's Birthday

Our campaign had a great time this past weekend across the new 41st House District celebrating Independence Day! I’m proud of our Nation and I strongly believe that the ideals expressed in the Declaration of Independence — that our unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness should not be infringed — still hold true today, just as they did 246 years ago.

As we move forward in this campaign, I am grateful for the wisdom of our Founding Fathers and thankful to God Almighty for giving us all a place where we can pursue our hopes, dreams, and desires. As your Delegate, I’ll work tirelessly to make sure that everyone — farmers, families, small business owners, students, law enforcement officers, veterans, and others — can enjoy the fruits of freedom that were won so many years ago.

Thank you for your support, and God Bless America!

Chris Obenshain, an assistant commonwealth’s attorney in Montgomery County, has announced that he will seek the Republican nomination in the newly-drawn House of Delegates district that covers most of Montgomery County and parts of western Roanoke County.

The district, drawn as part of the redistricting approved by the Virginia Supreme Court in December, has no incumbent. An analysis filed by the two “special masters” — one Democratic, one Republican — who drew the maps used two prior sets of election results to rate the 41st House District as the most competitive district in the western third of Virginia.
